On the 23rd day of April in 1979, was a momentous
day in American history (world history to be quite honest). This day
was a day that would be celebrated by the masses, for years and years
to come. The small town ofColumbia, SC would be the only city to lay
claim to this wonderful day. For on this day, the city?s favorite son
was born. On April 23 1979, I,
Sylvester Otis Williams,
was born. Although
many lay false claims, but the tiny Baptist Hospital, in Columbia, SC,
is the only one who can truthfully say that it was the first place that I
called home.
